October 21 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's government will allocate some 23 million levs ($14.0 million/11.7 million euro) to works on the infrastructure of three border checkpoints - Zlatarevo, Kalotina and Kulata, prime minister Boyko Borissov said on Wednesday.
The upgrades will facilitate traffic, Borissov said in a statement published on his Facebook profile, without disclosing details.
In October, Bulgaria's National Customs Agency launched a tender for a contract for the reconstruction of Zlatarevo checkpoint, on the border with North Macedonia, worth an estimated 19.8 million levs.
The Kulata and Kalotina checkpoints are located on Bulgaria's border with Greece and Serbia, respectively.
Last week, Borissov said that the construction of the new checkpoint on the border with Greece between Rudozem and Xanthi crossing, which was launched in February, will be completed in the beginning of 2021.
