December 31 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria will help tourism companies recover from the coronavirus crisis with 30 million levs ($17.3 million/15.3 million euro) of state aid, the tourism ministry said.
The grants will benefit 2,220 companies operating in the sector, the tourism ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
The support that each eligible company will receive represents 1.14% of its turnover reported for 2019. The funds will be disbursed in the first week of 2022.
Last month, the European Commission said that it approved Bulgaria's 15.3 million euro state aid scheme for tourism companies affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
