November 15 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian Road Infrastructure Agency said on Wednesday it has started the reconstruction of 11.7 km-long section of the secondary road connecting the cities of Pleven and Lovech in the central part of the country.
The project is financed from the EU programme Regions in Growth and the government budget - by 6.45 million levs ($3.9 million/3.3 million euro) and 1.14 million levs, respectively, the government agency said in a statement.
Local construction company Avtomagistrali Hemus will be in charge of the reconstruction works which should be completed in 10 months.
The road upgrade will increase traffic safety between the two cities of Pleven and Lovech and will improve the access of the local population to administrative, health and education services.
