BUCHAREST (Romania), January 20 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria and Romania posted the sharpest annual deflation - of 0.9% and 0.7%, respectively, among EU member states in December, the bloc's statistics office said on Tuesday.
Overall, consumer prices in the EU rose 0.2% on the year in December, versus an annual rise of 0.1% in November, Eurostat said in a statement published on its website. In December 2014 the inflation rate was minus 0.2%.
Negative annual rates were observed in 12 of the EU's 28 member states last month, Eurostat added.

Slovenia joined the bloc in 2004, Romania and Bulgaria followed suit in January 2007, and Croatia became the EU's 28th member on July 1, 2013.
