January 25 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's food safety agency said on Wednesday that it has detected the first outbreak of bird flu in 2023, at a quail farm in the town of Etropole, 80 km east of Sofia.
About 25,000 quails at the farm will be culled and eggs will be destroyed, the agency said in a statement
The agency said it has set up a three-kilometre prevention zone and a ten-kilometre surveillance zone around the affected farm.
