January 13 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's food safety agency said that it has detected the first outbreak of bird flu this year, at a duck farm in the village of Zhalti Bryag, Haskovo region, in the southeast of the country.
All of the birds at the farm, about 5,800 ducks, will be culled, the agency said in a statement on Wednesday.
The agency has set up a three-kilometre prevention zone and a ten-kilometre surveillance zone around the farm.
