January 19 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria recorded the highest annual inflation among EU member states in Southeast Europe (SEE) in December, at 14.3%, Eurostat said.
On a monthly comparison basis, Bulgaria also posted the sharpest rise in consumer prices among EU members in SEE in the period under review, of 0.8%, the bloc's statistical office said in a statement on Wednesday.
In contrast, Greece and Croatia registered monthly declines in consumer prices in December, of 0.7% and 0.1%, respectively.
At 7.6%, Greece registered the lowest rate of annual inflation among EU states in the region last month, below the EU average of 10.4%.
