October 6 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's industrial producer prices index (PPI) rose by 4.2% month-on-month in August, marking the biggest increase on a monthly comparison basis among all European Union (EU) member states during the month, the EU's statistical office said on Tuesday.
Neighboring Romania saw the highest year-on-year PPI increase among EU member states in Southeast Europe (SEE), of 17.3%, Eurostat said in a statement.
Bulgaria's annual PPI growth rate was 17.1%, slightly less than Romania's.
Elsewhere in SEE, Slovenia's PPI rose by just 8.1% year-on-year, marking the third-lowest annual increase among all EU member states, surpassed only by Malta with 1.3% and Slovakia with 7%.
