March 16 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's State Enterprise Radioactive Waste has opened a tender for the supply of a decommissioning management system, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Friday.
The tender envisages the supply of hardware, software and related services, including installation, testing and training, the EBRD said in a statement.
The cost of the project will be covered by part of the proceeds of a grant from the Kozloduy International Decommissioning Support Fund (KIDSF), administered by the EBRD.
The system will facilitate the use of a 3D model and a uniform information model for the planning and management of equipment dismantlement in the controlled area of units 1 to 4 of Bulgaria's sole nuclear power plant Kozloduy.
Kozloduy remained with two operational units of 1,000 MW each, Units 5 and 6, after Bulgaria closed down four older units of 440 MW each to address the nuclear safety concerns of the European Union prior to the country's accession to the bloc in 2007.
