October 29 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) said that it has launched a tender for awarding a 5.2 million levs ($2.9 million/2.6 million euro) contract for the construction of a third-class road connecting Plodovitovo and Asenovgrad, in the Plovdiv region.
Financing for the project will be provided by the state budget under RIA's New Construction programme, the agency said in a statement on Monday.
Under the terms of the public procurement procedure, the future contractor will also be responsible for building a bridge on the road, over the Maritsa river, as well as for the delivery of construction materials and road maintenance.
The tender is open to companies which have generated total revenue of at least 6 million levs, VAT excluded, in the last three fiscal years.
The candidates should also prove that they have conducted works under similar contracts in the last five years. They will be ranked based on some financial requirements as well.
The deadline for submitting offers is December 12. Works under the contract should be completed within a 360-day period.
