SOFIA (Bulgaria), July 11 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria's National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC) said it has opened a 361.5 million levs ($201.5 million/184.8 million euro) tender for the modernisation of a railway section connecting the towns of Kostenets and Septemvri, in southern Bulgaria.
The section is part of the railway line connecting Sofia to the country's second biggest city of Plovdiv, a major industrial, transport and logistics hub in southern Bulgaria. The Sofia–Plovdiv railway line is an important element of the Trans-European Transport Core network corridors.
The tender envisages the construction of three tunnels and 23 bridges, the NRIC said in a notice published on the website of the Public Procurement Agency on Monday.
The deadline for submitting offers is October 9.
The project is financed from the EU's Operational Programme Transport 2014-2020.
