DNEVNIK
- Ruling GERB party has nominated Education Minister Yordanka Fandakova for Sofia mayor in by-elections to be held on November 15, Deputy Prime Minister and GERB chairman Tsvetan Tsvetanov said.
- Bulgarian Regional Development Minister Rosen Plevneliev has an idea to hold a tender for the construction of the Trakia motorway in a Big Brother house near Sofia, aiming to secure the transparency of selection. The Big Brother is an international reality TV show airing 24/7 the living of a dozen of housemates.
- Recently privatised Cigarette Factory Plovdiv has changed its name to King's Tobacco and currently has a market share of 7.85%, the factory's executive director Boyko Kachulev said. The factory is making 140 tonnes of cigarettes a month, of which it exports between 80 and 100 tonnes on the average. It plans to start exporting to Romania, Macedonia, Croatia and Spain in October.

- Atanas Dobrev was elected the new chairman of the Association of Agricultural Producers in Bulgaria.

- Sofia city plans to build a plant for manufacturing trams and trains for the underground railway and seek a foreign partner in the project, the city's chief architect Petar Dikov said.
- Recently privatised Cigarette Factory Plovdiv, renamed to King's Tobacco, is interested in buying state-owned tobacco group Bulgartabac, of which once it was part, the factory's executive director Boyko Kachulev said.

- Bulgaria may lose 100 billion euro in the next 60 years if it abandons its plan to build the Belene nuclear power plant, Russia's ambassador in Sofia Yuriy Isakov said.
