DNEVNIK

- Zhechko Popov, the executive director of the Bulgarian state-owned arms repair group Terem, was arrested and accused of misappropriating state funds worth 5.2 million levs, Sofia City Prosecutor Nikolay Kokinov said.

- Bulgarian Transport Minister Alexander Tsvetkov dismissed the director of the Black Sea port of Burgas Argir Boyadzhiev due the port's poor financial performance and named Ruslan Petkov head of operations at the port. The port has accumulated a loss of 17 million levs so far since the beginning of the year.

- Raiffeisenbank Bulgaria's executive director Momchil Andreev expects a slight decrease in interest rates on loans and deposits in the fourth quarter of the year.

- Value-added tax revenue fell 21% on the year to 3.05 billion levs in the six months through June on shrinking demand, Finance Minister Simeon Dyankov said.

- Interest rates on loans have started to fall since the beginning of September, consultancy Credit Centre said.
