SOFIA (Bulgaria), December 13 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria has invited bids to award a 35-year concession on the Burgas-west port terminal, on the Black Sea coast.
Bids can be placed until January 28 and are planned to be opened on February 4, according to a tender notice published on the ministry’s website on Wednesday.
Bidders are required to have had combined total revenues for the last three years of at least 750 million levs ($500.9 million/383.5 million euro) and the assets in their balance sheets must be no less than that amount.
Bulgaria’s government said last month that it plans to award the concession in a bid to boost passenger and cargo flows and improve the quality of quayside services.
The concession will come with an obligation for total investment of at least 20.05 million levs, including 9.55 million levs that will have to be invested in the first seven years of the concession arrangement.
The port is located in the city of Burgas on the southern Black Sea coast. It covers a total area of 641,499 square meters.
