SOFIA (Bulgaria), December 13 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria has opened a tender for awarding a 35-year concession on the Nikopol port terminal, on the Danube river, the transport ministry said.
Bids can be placed until January 29 and are planned to be opened on the following day, the transport ministry said in a tender notice published on its website on Wednesday.
Bidders are required to have had fixed assets worth at least 500,000 levs ($334,000/256,000 euro) in the last fiscal year.
Bulgaria’s government said last month it plans to grant concession on the Nikopol port terminal in a bid to boost passenger and cargo flows and improve the quality of quayside services.
The concessionaire will be required to invest at least 25,000 levs over the duration of the contract.
The Nikopol river port covers an area of 17,642 square metres.
