January 18 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's caretaker government said on Wednesday that it awarded a 35-year concession for the Gradets-2 arkosic sandstone deposit to local construction company Eskana.
Varna-based Eskana intends to invest some 175,000 levs ($97,018/89,476 euro) in mining activities at the site for the term of the concession, the government said in a statement following its weekly meeting.
The company is expected to pay to the state and the municipality of Kotel, in which the concession perimeter is located. close to 4.7 million levs over the term of the concession.
Eskana is a private joint-stock company active in extraction and sales of sand and stone. The company is a major manufacturer of certified crushed stone fractions and natural sands in the Varna district, according to its website.
