SOFIA (Bulgaria), December 8 (SeeNews) – A total of eleven bids have been submitted for the design and construction of Lot 1 and Lot 2 of the Hemus motorway, Bulgaria's regional development ministry said.
Bids were filed by seven local tie-ups and four foreign joint ventures involving Italian and Turkish firms, the ministry said in a press release on Monday.
On Tuesday, newspaper Capital Daily reported that the total indicative value of the tendered works for the two lots of the Hemus motorway was 434 million levs ($241.4 million/222.1 million euro), which would be exceeded as the submitted bids are about two times as high.
The Hemus motorway will connect the capital city Sofia with Varna, situated on the Black Sea coast. The planned length of the whole motorway is 433 km.
