September 6 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria is interested in launching direct flights to India, Bulgarian president Rumen Radev has said.
Direct flights linking Bulgaria to India will encourage business contacts, trade relations and the development of joint projects, Radev said in a statement on Wednesday.
"We need to significantly strengthen our economic partnership so that it can reflect the depth of our political relationship," Indian president Ram Nath Kovind said during a meeting with Radev in Sofia, according to the statement.
The two presidents identified a number of areas with huge potential for cooperation between Bulgaria and India, including information and communication technologies, pharmaceuticals, the defence industry, space exploration, research, trade, education, and the food industry.
A cooperation agreement between the government investment agencies of India and Bulgaria was signed during the meeting.
