January 8 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's government said on Wednesday that it has extended its concession agreement with local company Port Lesport, a unit of diversified group Chimimport [BUL:6C4], for the Lesport port terminal, part of Port of Varna.
The concession agreement, signed in 2005, was extended for the maximum period allowed by local legislation, the government said in a statement without giving further details.
According to data from Port Lesport, the agreement was signed for a 30-year period in 2005.
Bulgarian legislation limits the term of concession contracts to 35 years.
As at 14:50 CET on Wednesday, Chimimport shares traded 3.47% higher at 1.64 levs ($0.93/0.84 euro) on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.
