December 10 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Road Infrastructure Agency said on Thursday that it expects state-owned Avtomagistrali to complete the construction of a 16.3 kilometre section of Hemus motorway in the first half of 2021.
The motorway section connects the Buhovtsi and Belokopitovo road junctions, in the Shumen and Targovishte provinces, the government agency said in a statement.
Avtomagistrali has also started asphalt laying on the 15.2 kilometre section of Hemus motorway connecting the Boaza and Dermantsi road junctions.
The state-owned company is also in the preparatory stages of construction of several other sections of the motorway.
The construction of Hemus motorway is planned to be completed in 2024. The motorway will connect the capital Sofia to the Black Sea city of Varna.
