August 25 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Food Safety Agency said that it has detected three outbreaks of the African swine fever disease, the first ones in 2021.
The agency confirmed the first outbreak in an industrial farm with some 13,000 pigs in the village of Apriltsi, in Pazardzhik region, on August 18, it said in a statement last week.

Two more outbreaks were reported in an unregistered private farm in the village of Krasnovo, in Hisarya municipality, and in a family farm in the village of Sbor, in Pazardzhik region, the agency said in two separate statements published last week.
All infected and contact pigs in the three farms will be culled in compliance with the regulatory requirements.
The food safety agency has set up three-kilometre prevention zones and a ten-kilometre surveillance zones around the farms, it added.
