SOFIA (Bulgaria), January 9 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria has awarded a 54.9 million levs ($29.56 million/28 million euro) contract for the construction of a 9.3 km section of Hemus motorway to a tie-up led by local company Hydrostroy, the country's road infrastructure agency (RIA) said on Monday.
The section which starts near the town of Yablanitsa 90 km northeast of Sofia, should be built within 910 days, RIA said in a statement.
The consortium also includes Bulgarian construction companies Vodstroy and Patstroy.
The initial price of the tender was set at 80 million levs.
The Yablanitsa-Boaza stretch is the first out of four planned sections for the extension of Hemus, which will link Sofia to the Black Sea city of Varna.
