May 25 (SeeNews) - Public gas supplier Bulgargaz has proposed to the Bulgarian energy regulator to approve a wholesale gas price of 42.54 levs ($26.65/21.75 euro) per MWh, to be valid in the month of June, the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) said.
The price applicable in May is 37.71 levs per MWh.
EWRC will decide whether to approve the proposal at a meeting scheduled for June 1, the energy regulator said in a statement last week.
Earlier this month, Bulgargaz said it was planning to propose a wholesale gas price of 44.72 levs per MWh, to be valid in July.
Bulgarian energy regulations require Bulgargaz to set the gas price monthly. EWRC has the final say on the proposed changes in the wholesale price, at which the state-owned company sells natural gas to end-suppliers and customers directly connected to its transmission network.
