November 11 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian public gas supplier Bulgargaz said it is proposing a monthly increase in the wholesale natural gas price applicable for December to 145.87 levs ($76.29/74.58 euro) per MWh.
Prices for December delivery on the European gas hubs approximate 113 euro ($115.59) per MWh, or over 30% higher than the proposed domestic price, Bulgargaz said in its proposal published by Bulgaria's Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) on Thursday.
Last week, the utilities regulator endorsed a 47% monthly reduction in the wholesale natural gas price for November to 123.01 levs per MWh.
Bulgargaz will table a definitive price request to the EWRC on December 1, taking into account the values of price-forming components as of November 30, the company said.
Currently, imports of natural gas from Azerbaijan meet a third of Bulgaria's consumption requirements. Bulgargaz also secured additional quantities for November through auctions for pipeline gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG). Auctions for monthly requirements for December and for the 2023 heating season were announced in September.
