September 22 (SeeNews) - State-owned gas operator Bulgargaz proposed to the energy regulator to approve a 15.7% increase the wholesale gas price to 80.28 levs ($48.10/41.05 euro) per MWh as of October 1, the regulator said on Tuesday.
The price applicable in September is 69.40 levs per MWh.
Earlier this month, Bulgargaz said it expects that the price of natural gas in Bulgaria will increase to 84.39 levs per MWh in November.
Bulgarian energy regulations require Bulgargaz to set the gas price monthly. The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission has the final say on the proposed changes in the wholesale price at which the state-owned company sells natural gas to end-suppliers and customers directly connected to its transmission network.
