December 29 (SeeNews) - Public natural gas supplier Bulgargaz has proposed to Bulgaria's energy regulator to approve an increase of 14.4% in the wholesale gas price, to be valid for January 2022, the regulator said.
The proposed increase will take the price to 117.12 levs ($67.7/59.9 euro) per MWh, the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) said.
The wholesale price of natural gas applicable in December is 102.33 levs per MWh.
Earlier this month, Bulgargaz said it expects that the wholesale price of natural gas for delivery in February 2022 will increase to 117.90 levs per MWh.
Bulgarian energy regulations require Bulgargaz to set the gas price monthly. The EWRC has the final say on the proposed changes in the wholesale price at which the state-owned company sells natural gas to end-suppliers and customers directly connected to its transmission network.
