July 16 (SeeNews) - Public gas supplier Bulgargaz proposed to Bulgaria's Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) to approve a wholesale gas price of 55.84 levs ($33.71/28.55 euro) per MWh, to be valid in August, the energy regulator said on Friday.
The price applicable in July is 49.94 levs per MWh.
EWRC will decide whether to approve the proposal at a meeting scheduled for August 1, the energy regulator said in a statement.
Earlier this month, Bulgargaz said it was planning to propose a wholesale gas price of 55.62 levs per MWh, to be valid in September.
Bulgarian energy regulations require Bulgargaz to set the gas price monthly. EWRC has the final say on the proposed changes in the wholesale price, at which the state-owned company sells natural gas to end-suppliers and customers directly connected to its transmission network.
