May 12 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian public gas supplier Bulgargaz said it has requested from the utilities regulator to approve a wholesale price of natural gas of 68.63 levs ($38.28/35.08 euro) per MWh for June.
The proposed price is 11.5% lower than the price approved for May, Bulgargaz said in a press release on Thursday.
For the current month, the wholesale natutral gas price stands at 77.55 levs per MWh after the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) endorsed a fourth consecutive monthly decrease.
The submitted price request for June is also lower than the price of 74.59 levs per MWh for next month that Bulgargaz initially forecast.
Over a third of Bulgaria's gas consumption needs of about 1 billion cubic metres per year have been met by both pipeline natural gas and regasified LNG delivered via the Greece-Bulgaria interconnector, which was commissioned in October 2022.
