SOFIA (Bulgaria), May 17 (SeeNews) – UniCredit Bulbank, the Bulgarian unit of Italy’s UniCredit Group, said on Wednesday it has posted the best business results in terms of private banking among the group’s units in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) in 2016.
Elsewhere in Southeast Europe (SEE) UniCredit Group has units in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia.
The ranking is based on criteria such as total financial assets and year-on-year change in the volume of funds managed, UniCredit Bulbank said in a press release.
Unicredit Bulbank recorded an increase of 55% in the volume of funds managed in 2016.
The Bulgarian unit of UniCredit Group has topped the ranking in each individual month of 2016.
UniCredit Bulbank has been part of the top 3 units in this ranking in each of the previous three years.
The bank was Bulgaria's largest lender by assets as of end-March 2017, according to data from the country's central bank.
UniCredit Bulbank operates 170 branches in the country.
