PODGORICA (Montenegro), April 28 (SeeNews) – Montenegrin hotel operator Budvanska rivijera [MNG:BUDR] led the blue-chip gainers on the Montenegrin stock exchange in April, as stock indices rose, bourse data indicated on Friday.
The blue-chip index of the Montenegro Stock Exchange, MNSE10, closed at 895.90 points on Friday, down 9.14% month-on-month and 8.8% down year-on-year.
The benchmark MONEX index, which tracks the 20 most representative shares on the Montenegro Stock Exchange, decreased by 5.84%% month-on-month in April, reaching 11,244.52 points. The index fell 0.2% year-on-year.
Budvanska rivijera rose the most among the blue chips in April, adding 3.71% month-on-month to 5.4924 euro, as 4,879 of its shares changed hands in 14 transactions.
Port operator Luka Bar [MNG:LUBA] paced the blue-chip decliners in April, shedding 33.55% month-on-month, to 0.371 euro. The company generated a share turnover of 63,213 euro. A total of 170,366 shares in the company changed hands in April in 48 transactions.
Turnover from trading in shares on the Montenegro bourse rose in April to 2.9 million euro ($3.16 million) from 7.4 million euro a year earlier. Trading turnover was 19.4% lower than in March.
Trading in Treasury bonds contributed 24,301 euro to the bourse's total turnover of 2.927 million euro in April. A total of 25,000 securities of the FO02 issue, maturing on August 18, 2017, changed hands in two transactions in April.
A total of 768 transactions were concluded on the bourse in Podgorica in April, versus 748 in March. Stock market capitalisation was 2.867 billion euro at the end of April, down from 2.910 billion euro a month earlier.
