BUCHAREST (Romania), November 2 (SeeNews) – Romanian share indices shed ground on Monday in slim volumes as the market remained in anticipation mode, brokers said.
The blue-chip BET index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB, edged down 0.02% to 4,468.22 points. The BET-FI, which tracks the country's five regional investment funds, the SIFs, was the worst-performing index, dropping 2.8% to 20,670.05 points.
The composite BET-C index lost 0.46% to 2,640.90. The ROTX index of Romania's 15 most liquid stocks, a joint index of the BVB and the Vienna Stock Exchange, fell 0.04% to 9,379.60.
"Except for the SIFs, there were no major stock price fluctuations. It's been like this for some time now. These are the hallmarks of a market in anticipation mode. Upcoming U.S. statistics are keeping market activity in check, but still there are some sellers," one broker told SeeNews.
