November 9 (SeeNews) - Bucharest stock indices fell on Thursday in higher turnover, Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) data showed.
The total equity turnover of the BVB rose to 55.5 million lei ($13.9 million/12 million euro) from 42.3 million lei on Wednesday.
In its first trading day, Romania's Sphera Franchise Group [BSE:SFG] stood to 33.6 lei in Thursday’s largest turnover of 24.09 million lei. Sphera Franchise Group raised 285 million lei through an initial public offering (IPO) of a 25% stake on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB).
Sphera Franchise Group launched the IPO on the BVB on October 24, hoping to raise up to 324.4 million lei through the sale of 9.8 million shares.
The final price in the IPO was 29 lei per share. Some 95% of the shares were bought by institutional investors, while the rest were acquired by retail investors.
Sphera Franchise Group was set up in June and operates the outlets of KFC, Pizza Hut, Pizza Hut Delivery and Taco Bell in Romania. It also runs fast food chain KFC's operations in Moldova and in the northeastern part of Italy.
BRD Societe Generale [BSE:BRD] rose 0.47% to 12.7 lei in the day’s second largest turnover of 17.08 million lei.
Lender Banca Transilvania [BSE:TLV] lost 0.47 % to 2.1150 lei in the day’s third largest turnover of 5.88 million lei.
Last week, BVB appointed Marius-Alin Barbu as interim chief executive officer.
The announcement came after CEO Ludwik Sobolewski resigned.
The selection process for the appointment of a new CEO and general manager of the Bucharest Stock Exchange is continuing, the bourse said in a statement. The final appointment will need to be confirmed by the country's Financial Supervisory Authority, ASF.
