BUCHAREST (Romania), September 23 (SeeNews) – The indices of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB, closed mostly up on Wednesday in higher volumes, brokers said.
The blue-chip BET index rose 0.35% to 4,444.49 points. The BET-FI, which tracks the country’s five regional investment funds, the SIFs, was the only slider among the indices, shedding 0.04% to 25,731.80 points.
The composite BET-C index gained 0.52% to 2,632.12 and the ROTX index of Romania's 15 most liquid stocks, a joint index of the BVB and the Vienna Stock Exchange, added 0.27% to 9,372.89.
BVB's turnover rose to 48.7 million lei ($17 million/11.5 million euro) from 38.3 million lei on Tuesday. The number of traded shares increased to 93.5 million from 66 million on Tuesday.
SIF 5 Oltenia advanced 0.76% to 1.32 lei in the day's largest turnover of 11.6 million lei. SIF 2 Moldova was up 0.85% to 1.19 lei on deals worth 9.3 million lei, Wednesday’s second largest turnover. SIF 3 Transilvania fell 0.65% to 0.76 lei in a 5.2 million lei turnover, the session’s third largest.
SIF 4 Muntenia appreciated by 0.64% to 0.785 lei in a turnover of 4.3 million lei, while SIF 1 Banat Crisana dipped 1.61% to 1.22 lei in deals worth 2.1 million lei.
Blue-chip lender Banca Transilvania ended unchanged at 1.6 lei in 2.2 million lei turnover, while its blue-chip peer BRD gained 0.78% to 12.9 lei in 1.1 million lei turnover.
Blue-chip gas transmission company Transgaz was up 1.85% to 165 lei in deals worth 877,000 lei, while blue-chip oil refinery Rompetrol Rafinare dropped 3.39% to 0.057 lei in 1.1 million lei turnover. Oil and gas company Dafora jumped 11.22% to 0.0872 lei in 1.1 million lei turnover.
The BET-XT index, which tracks the 25 most liquid companies on the bourse, including the SIFs, picked up 0.36% to 451.87 points. The BET-NG, which includes companies from the energy sector and utilities, advanced 0.44% to 585.54 points.
Rasdaq-C, the composite index of the over-the-counter market RASDAQ, edged up 0.07% to 2,143.93. Turnover on the RASDAQ fell to 2.5 million lei from 2.9 million lei on Tuesday.
