BUCHAREST (Romania), September 24 (SeeNews) – The indices of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB, closed mixed on Thursday in lower turnover, brokers said.
The blue-chip BET index fell 0.24% to 4,433.73 points. The BET-FI index, which tracks the country’s five regional investment funds, the SIFs, added 0.62% to 25,890.37 points.
The composite BET-C index lost 0.03% to 2,631.28 and the ROTX index of Romania's 15 most liquid stocks, a joint index of the BVB and the Vienna Stock Exchange, closed 0.63% down at 9,313.60.
Liquidity was at a good level and the indices showed no major variations up or down at the close, local brokerage Prime Transaction said in a daily note published on its website.
It added that there was pressure on the buy side for some stocks, which posted sharp gains.
BVB's turnover fell to 35 million lei ($12.2 million/8.3 million euro) from 48.7 million lei on Wednesday. The number of traded shares increased to 107.3 million from 93.5 million on Wednesday.
SIF 5 Oltenia advanced 0.76% to 1.33 lei in the day's largest turnover of 4.25 million lei. SIF 2 Moldova was up 1.68% to 1.21 lei on deals worth 3.07 million lei, Thursday’s second largest turnover. SIF 3 Transilvania remained unchanged at 0.76 lei in a 1.77 million lei turnover in regular trading, the session’s third largest. A deal with 2.93 million shares of SIF 3 Transilvania worth 1.9 million lei was also executed on the bourse on Thursday.
SIF 4 Muntenia also ended unchanged at 0.785 lei in a turnover of 1.69 million lei. Oil and gas company Dafora jumped 14.68% to 0.1 lei in 1.6 million lei turnover. Blue-chip brokerage SSIF Broker gained 6.41% to 0.249 lei in deals worth 1.4 million lei.
Blue-chip lender Banca Transilvania closed down 1.25% at 1.58 lei in 1.2 million lei turnover.
Blue-chip gas transmission company Transgaz was up 1.09% to 166.8 lei in deals worth 913,290 lei, while blue-chip oil and gas group Petrom lost 2.61% to 0.261 lei in 809,990 lei turnover.
Blue-chip real estate company Impact Developer & Contractor jumped 16.19% to 0.61 lei in deals worth 599,070 lei.
The BET-XT index, which tracks the 25 most liquid companies on the bourse, including the SIFs, picked up 0.04% to 452.07 points. The BET-NG, which includes companies from the energy sector and utilities, advanced 1.06% to 591.76 points.
Rasdaq-C, the composite index of the over-the-counter market RASDAQ, edged up 0.49% to 2,154.42. Turnover on the RASDAQ rose to 3.4 million lei from 2.5 million lei on Wednesday.
