December 16 (SeeNews) - Bucharest-listed Digi Communications [BSE:DIGI], the majority owner of Romanian company RCS&RDS, said on Monday that it has repurchased 5,503 own shares in the December 9-13 period for a total of some 177,000 lei ($41,000/37,000 euro).
Digi Communications repurchased the shares at a weighted average price per share of 32 lei, the company said in a bourse filing.
As at 15:00 CET on Monday, Digi Communications shares traded 1.58% higher at 32.1 lei on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
The company's capital comprises 100,000,000 shares, of which 64,556,028 class A shares with a nominal value of 0.10 euro each, and 35,443,972 class B shares, with a nominal value of 0.01 euro apiece.
All of Digi Communications' class B shares are listed for trading in Bucharest. Digi Communications is part of the Bucharest Stock Exchange's blue-chip BET index.
RCS&RDS, founded by Romanian businessman Zoltan Teszari, comprises two companies - Romanian Cable Systems (RCS) founded in 1994, and Romanian Data Systems (RDS) founded in 1998. Its parent company, Cable Communication Systems, now Digi Communications N.V., indirectly operates telecommunications groups in Hungary, Spain and Italy through RCS&RDS.
