BUCHAREST (Romania), April 19 (SeeNews) – Bucharest-based IT&C services provider GTS Telecom, part of Deutsche Telekom Group, said on Monday that it plans to invest over 3 million euro ($3.6 million) this year to consolidate its data centers and cloud platforms, and diversify its portfolio.
The consolidation of the company's two own data centers, in Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca, aim to increase their capacity, GTS Telecom said in a press release.
The planned investment is also aimed at the integration of new technologies in cloud, security, or software solutions.
"Each year, we allocate significant investments in the development of the GTS Telecom network, in order to maintain the high-performance standards that our customers expect. We have the infrastructure, the technical expertise and the availability in becoming for our partners a one-stop-shop for integrated IT&C services," GTS Telecom CEO Razvan Stoica said.
The company said demand for its security solutions rose by more than 170% last year compared with 2019, which resulted in a "positive financial evolution".
With a presence of over 25 years on the Romanian market, GTS Telecom offers an extensive portfolio of national and international services, such as cloud, colocation, backup, and disaster-recovery, in its own data centers in Bucharest and Cluj, as well as data services, voice, internet access, and anti-DDoS. Also, it manages an extensive Ethernet and MPLS network based on a solid fiber optic infrastructure.
In June 2014, GTS Telecom was acquired by Deutsche Telekom, as part of the GTS Central Europe group. The company has approximately 130 employees.
