January 17 (SeeNews) - Slovenian private broadcasters Pop TV and Kanal A have withdrawn their 58.2 million euro ($63 million) compensation claim against state-controlled Telekom Slovenije [LJE:TLSG] for alleged insufficient fee payments for the distribution of TV channels, Telekom Slovenije said.
Pop TV and Kanal A dropped their claims against Telekom Slovenije as the telecoms operator withdrew its previously-launched legal action against the two private broadcasters, Telekom Slovenije said in a filing with the Ljubljana Stock Exchange on Monday.
Slovenia's District Court decided to terminate the lawsuit on January 16, Telekom Slovenije said.
Pop TV and Kanal A claimed in May 2022 compensation for the damage suffered due to the lack of fee payments in the period between February 16, 2017, and March 31, 2022. Their legal actions represented a counterclaim to a lawsuit that Telekom Slovenije lodged against Pop TV and Kanal A in December 2021 for nullifying parts of the agreement and overpaying TV channels' distribution fees. Telekom Slovenije claimed compensation of 12.3 million euro in the lawsuit.
