July 17 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian Real Estate Fund REIT [BUL:5BU] was the biggest blue-chip gainer on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange on Tuesday, bourse data shows.
BREF REIT shares closed 1.06% higher at 1.91 levs ($1.14/0.98 euro) in a trading volume of 7,532 shares.
On Tuesday, the company said its net profit rose to 1.88 million levs in the first six months of the year from 1.71 million levs in the same period of 2017.
The company is currently in the process of increasing its capital under a prospectus approved by the Financial Supervision Commission on June 15.
BREF intends to double its capital to 40.3 million levs through the issuance of 20.15 million shares with a nominal value of 1 lev each. The shares are offered for subscription at a price of 1.9 levs apiece.
A total of 958,528 subscription rights for BREF REIT's capital increase changed hands on the Sofia bourse on Tuesday. Each right gives its holder the chance to subscribe for one share from the new issue.
Doverie United Holding [BUL:5DOV] fell the most among blue chips on Tuesday, closing 2.89% lower at 1.73 levs.
The only other blue chip, which saw a decrease in its share price was financial and insurance group Eurohold Bulgaria, which ended the trading session 0.34% lower at 1.48 levs.
The blue-chip SOFIX index added 0.10% to 624.47 points.
The wider BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, rose 0.26% to 122.25 points.
Zarneni Hrani Bulgaria [BUL:T43] rose the most among BGBX40 components, closing 3.23% higher at 0.32 levs.
The BG-REIT index, which tracks the performance of real estate investment trusts (REITs), increased 0.28% to 116.49, supported by the share price rise of BREF REIT and Advance Terrafund REIT [BUL:6A6], which closed 0.48% higher.
The BG TotalReturn30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, fell by 0.15% to 522.48 points.
Total trading turnover on the regulated market of the Sofia bourse fell to 204,680 levs on Tuesday from 748,000 levs on Monday.
