BUCHAREST (Romania), January 25 (SeeNews) – Brazilian cloud e-commerce solutions provider VTEX plans to invest 10 million euro ($12.5 million) in this year and next in its hub in Romania and triple the size of its local team, the company said on Monday.
Investments in the Romanian hub will help the company grow on the markets of Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, VTEX said in a press release.
VTEX plans to expand its team in Romania to 45 employees, from current 15, by the end of 2021.
"In the medium term, we aim for VTEX to become the market leader in Romania and an important player in the region, to be the first brand to think of when planning to develop a solid business or to efficiently and quickly transition to online," VTEX Eastern Europe growth leader Cristi Movila said.
"We are implementing in Romania and in the region the most complex and complete platform for online commerce, at a time when more and more business owners understand that e-commerce is the way to go and that online marketplaces are part of their immediate plans."
Currently, the company has 21 clients in the region it is serving from the Romanian hub. It plans to reach 50 clients by the end of 2021.
VTEX opeend its first office in Romania's capital Bucharest in 2018, as part of its expansion strategy in Central and Eastern Europe.
Global commerce and marketplace solutions provider VTEX was founded in 1999 in Brazil. It employs over 800 worldwide in 16 offices and has over 3,000 customers.
