December 28 (SeeNews) - Zeljeznice RS, the railway operator of Bosnia's Serb Republic, said it signed a 10 million euro ($13.3 million) deal with Serbian companies Gosa and Таtrаvаgоnka Brаtstvо to upgrade its fleet.
Under the deal, Gosa and Таtrаvаgоnka Brаtstvо will supply to the railway operator 37 new freight rail cars and will repair and refurbish another 195, Zeljeznice RS said in a statement on Thursday. The deal provides for the reconstruction of 50 rail cars, as well.
The deal is financed with a loan provided by the Serbian government.
The Serb Republic and the Muslim-Croat Federation are the two autonomous parts that make up Bosnia.
The Federation's railway operator is Zeljeznice Federacije Bosne i Hercegovine.
