SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), February 13 (SeeNews) – The railway operator of Bosnia's Federation entity, Zeljeznice FBiH, said its EBITDA jumped to 18.97 million marka ($12.0 million/9.7 million euro) in 2017, from 6.28 million marka in the previous year.
"In 2017, Zeljeznice FBiH achieved the best result in the last 25 years", the general manager of the company, Enis Dzafic, said in a statement on Monday.
The company's operating income totalled 113.4 million marka in 2017, up 6.6 million marka on 2016, while operating costs decreased to 94.4 million marka from 100.5 million marka.
In 2017, Zeljeznice FBiH transported 8.9 million tonnes of cargo, up 10,000 tonnes on 2016. The company carried 355,000 passengers last year, up from 258,000 a year earlier.
The Federation is one of the two autonomous entities that make up Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
