They signed a letter of intent on April 18, confirming their mutual interest in Vitinka gaining control over Vitaminka, including the possibility of establishing a new special purpose company, the statement added.
Since the planned merger will impact the beverages production and sales market in Bosnia, the competition council is asking all interested parties to send their comments and concerns on the issue within seven days.
Vitinka is controlled by Banja Luka-based firm Sinovi i Oci, while Swiss group Kreis-Industriehandel AG holds a 76.6% stake in Vitaminka with the remainder being in the hands of minority shareholders.
Both companies are based in the Serb Republic, which together with the Muslim-Croat Federation makes up Bosnia and Herzegovina.
