BANJA LUKA (Bosnia and Herzegovina), February 1 (SeeNews) – The unit of UniCredit Bank in Bosnia's Serb Republic said it has signed a loan agreement with local coal miner and energy producer RiTE Ugljevik [BANJ:RTEU-R-A] for the construction and reconstruction of electrostatic precipitators at its thermal power plant.
The funds will be used to finance the purchase and installation of electrostatic precipitators, and the construction of a special facility to house the filters, UniCredit Banja Luka said in a statement on Tuesday.
The project will help the energy producer meet EU regulations by reducing particulate emissions, the lender noted.
The value of the loan was not disclosed.
The Ugljevik coal mine and the adjacent power plant are located in the northeastern part of the Serb Republic, which together with the Federation makes up Bosnia and Herzegovina.
