February 1 (SeeNews) - Bosnia and Herzegovina's Tuzla International Airport started the construction of a third gate, an investment worth 1.06 million marka ($590,500/542,000 euro), the government of the Tuzla Canton said.
The gate is expected to be put into operation in the second half of 2023, the government of Tuzla Canton said in a statement on Tuesday.
Passenger numbers at Tuzla International Airport increased to 466,596 in 2022, from 299,031 a year earlier, earlier data issued by the airport showed.
Tuzla airport is one of Bosnia's four international airports. The remaining three are situated in Sarajevo, Banja Luka and Mostar.
The Tuzla Canton is one of ten cantons making up the Federation - one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other entity is the Serb Republic.
