April 14 (SeeNews) - Bosnia’s Serb Republic water utility Vode Srpske said that the European Investment Bank (EIB) has approved a 19 million euro ($22.7 million) loan, to be used by the company for flood protection projects.
Vode Srpske plans to implement eleven projects which should be completed by 2024, it said in a press release on Tuesday.
These projects include an upgrade to the embankment of the river Bosna, in Modrica, in which Vode Srpske will invest 3.8 million euro of the proceeds of the loan.
Vode Srpske will also invest 3 million euro in the rehabilitation of the bed of the river Vrbas in Banja Luka, as well as 3 million euro in the reconstruction of the pumping stations in the towns of Srbac, Brod, Samac and Bijeljina.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
