April 29 (SeeNews) - Bosnia's Serb Republic recorded a trade deficit of 296.9 million marka ($ 160 million/152 million euro) in the first three months of this year, compared with a trade gap of 185.6 million marka in the same period of 2021, the entity's statistical office said quoting preliminary data.
Exports increased by 34.7% year-on-year in the January-March period, reaching 1.283 billion marka, while imports added 38.8% to 1.580 billion marka, the Serb Republic's Institute of Statistics said in a monthly report earlier this week.
The Serb Republic's main export destinations in the first three months were Serbia and Croatia, absorbing 18.1% and 13.9% respectively of the entity's total exports.
The largest importers into the entity were Serbia and Italy, with shares of 17% and 15% of all imports, respectively.
Bosnia's Serb Republic recorded a trade deficit of 1.152 billion marka in 2021, up 6.8% on the year.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other entity is the Federation.
