April 9 (SeeNews) - The government of Bosnia's Serb Republic will take on payment of income tax and social contributions for March of workers from sectors of the economy most affected by the coronavirus crisis, the entity's finance ministry said.
The government will spend between 17 and 19 million marka ($10.6 million/9.7 million euro) in total for the purpose, as it will also pay income tax and contributions of self-employed people, thus covering some 40,000 workers, the finance ministry said in a press release earlier this week.
The government also extended the deadline for filing annual tax reports for all taxpayers until April 30.
On March 26, the Serb Republic government said that the deadline for the payment of profit tax 2019 by companies will be extended by three months, until June 30.
The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Bosnia rose to 787 as of Wednesday morning, including 33 fatalities, according to official data.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
