June 5 (SeeNews) - The tax administration of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Serb Republic said it collected 1.479 billion marka ($809.2 million/756.7 million euro) in taxes in the January-May period, up 16% compared to the same period a year earlier.
Revenue from direct taxes reached 383.9 million marka in the first five months of the year, up 20% year-on-year, the entity's tax office said in a statement on Sunday.
Revenue from contributions increased to 881 million marka in January-May, up by 118.3 million marka compared with the previous year. Other public revenue came in at 213.9 million marka, some 17.4 million marka more than in January-May 2022.
In May alone, the Serb Republic collected 269.7 million marka in taxes, up by 26.5 million marka compared with the same month a year earlier.
The Serb Republic is one of two entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
