January 25 (SeeNews) - Consumer prices in Bosnia's Serb Republic rose by 1.7% on average last year, after falling by 1.2% in 2020, the entity's statistical office said.
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages went up 3.1% on averagfe, prices of transport services rose 5.9%, while prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels added 0.8% last year, the entity's statistical office said in a monthly inflation report on Monday.
In December alone, the Serb Republic's consumer price index (CPI) increased 5.9% on the year, after rising by 5.2% in November.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices in the Serb Republic were 0.5% higher in December, after an increase of 1.2% in November.
In annual terms, prices of transport services rose 14.4% in December, as prices of fuels and lubricants for passenger cars increased by 25.8%; prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages went up 10.7% due to 33.2% higher prices of oils and fats and 20.1% higher prices of vegetables.
The biggest year-on-year drop in consumer prices in December, of 6.3%, was recorded in the clothing and footwear sector due to seasonal discounts.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
