November 26 (SeeNews) - Bosnia's Serb Republic said on Friday it began the construction of a six-kilometre section of the Corridor Vc motorway connecting Rudanka and Putnikovo Brdo.
The motorway section, which will include two tunnels, a 330-metre bridge over Bosna river and a 290-metre viaduct, is expected to be completed in three years, Bosnia's Serb Republic said in a press release.
The project is financed with a loan of 150 million euro ($169.3 million) by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and a grant of 38.8 million euro by the European Commission through the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF), the press release read.
Local Integral Inzenjering is the contractor in the project, while Italy's engineering consultancy IRD Engineering is supervising the works.
Corridor Vc has a total length of 700 km and connects the port of Ploce in Croatia with Budapest in Hungary via Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Serb Republic is one of the two autonomous entities that make up Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other is the Federation.
